Hair Loss Treatment
Hair doesn’t make the man. Just ask The Rock or Vin Diesel. But, that doesn’t mean that you can’t learn more about what causes hair loss and learn how to take care of the hair you have.
Everyone loses hair every day, but at some point, up to 85% of men will start to notice they are losing more than they did before, and it’s not growing back.
Blame your genes
Wearing a baseball cap won’t make you go bald, and neither will running your fingers through your hair. While there are several causes of hair loss, the most common is hereditary. This hereditary type of hair loss, generally referred to as male pattern baldness, affects up to 1/3 of all men before they turn 30.
Other causes of hair loss include:
- Not enough protein
- Illness or stress
- Too much vitamin A
- Certain medications
What does treatment involve?
Before you invest in any treatments, you need to talk to your doctor and find out why your hair is falling out and rule out any serious problems.
While you can’t always prevent hair loss as you age, there are treatments that can slow down the process. And hair loss that isn’t hereditary can often reverse itself.
Hair loss treatments you can talk to your primary care provider about include:
- Reduce stress
- Stop smoking
- Prescription and OTC drugs
- Laser treatment
- Hair transplants
Wearing a baseball hat to cover up your bald spot isn’t likely to be a long-term hair loss solution. Talk to your doctor and take charge of the things you can control. Exercise. Eat right. And remember that with guys like Jason Statham and Pitbull, you’re in good company.
At Men’s Best, we want to help you feel your best and look your best, from head to toe. And that even includes your hair.
