Annual Physicals should be performed about once a year. The exam requires a urine and blood test, to make sure your body is running smoothly. Questions about your family medical history will be asked as well as any health issues that may run in your family. This information is needed to help tailor a customized health plan, or it can often lead to the recommendation of taking more vitamins and make sure you exercise. Fasting may be required be sure to check with the clinic prior to your visit. Most Annual Physicals are offered free with most major insurance plans.  Contact your insurance provider directly or a Men’s Best clinic to see if you qualify.

Employment Physicals may be required by your employer to check for conditions that may keep you from performing the duties of your job.  During a work-related physical exam, a Men’s Best provider will check your overall health and look for possible symptoms of illnesses or chronic ailments.  The exam generally consists of checking your blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature.  Listening to your heart and lungs as well as checking your abdomen and skin will also be part of the exam. Be sure to bring any paperwork from your employer as well as any medical information to bring to your visit.

Department of Transportation Physicals (D.O.T. Physicals) are a yearly a requirement for many professional drivers.  Our certified practitioners at Men’s Best make the process easy for commercial drivers to fulfill their yearly regulatory requirements by the Department of Transportation.  All results are posted same day to the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)

Sports Physicals or pre-participation physical exam (PPE) measures your readiness for whatever sport you are presently playing. For many high-school and collegiate athletes, this exam is repeated often. Men’s Best will perform a physical exam to check:

  • Height and weight
  • Blood pressure and heart rate
  • Abdomen, heart, lungs, ears, nose and throat
  • Hearing and vision
  • Strength, flexibility, coordination, reflexes and posture

Questions about family history, past injuries and surgeries, allergies, complications during exercise, social behavior, nutrition, sleep and exercise patterns, and any medication may be asked. Be sure to bring the required form for the provider to fill out to your appointment.

School Physicals are required by some school institutions prior to admission.  This routine physical examination will cover many physical and developmental changes as well as ruling out any major health concerns and catches many health issues early. A Men’s Best provider will assess general health and family history.  They will also perform an evaluation of height, weight, blood pressure, vision, heart and other crucial systems.  A complete list of immunizations, allergies and medications will be needed for the provider to verify that all mandatory vaccinations required for school attendance are current.
